Welcome to the Victoria Accordion Club

Our aim is to enjoy the accordion, the music of accordions, and the people who create it.

About the Club

The Victoria Accordion Club (VAC) was founded in 2002 as a small gathering of accordion enthusiasts in the Victoria area. Since then, the club has grown into an active and welcoming community, with members travelling from as far as Nanaimo to take part.

We bring together players and listeners of all experience levels to share music, learn from one another, and enjoy the unique sound and culture of the accordion.

The VAC Band is made up of up to 20 accordionists, with skill levels ranging from beginner to advanced. The band was formed alongside the creation of the Victoria Accordion Club in 2002.

Through the dedication of its members, the band has become well known in the community and regularly performs at local venues and events.

Music & Performances

The VAC Band performs a wide and engaging range of music, including:

  • Popular and contemporary songs

  • Jazz

  • Folk

  • Polkas and waltzes

  • Rock ’n’ roll

The band has performed at seniors’ centres, community centres, festivals, and community events, bringing accordion music to audiences of all kinds.

Booking the VAC Band

The VAC Band is available for event bookings, and can be arranged as:

  • Duos

  • Trios

  • Quartets

  • Full band

Performance fees are determined based on the needs of the venue or event and are set at the discretion of the Band Coordinator.

Join the Band!

We meet on the 1st (first) Sunday of each month at the SHOAL Centre, 10030 Resthaven Drive in Sidney, BC. 

We start with our band practice at 11:00 a.m., and if time permits, continue with a jam session (about 2 pm). 

We play a variety of music that everyone can enjoy.  Once you are a member you will be given access to our extensive music library. 

Everyone is welcome, all players and abilities!  Consider coming out and joining us!
